QString and DDD

Mandrake Linux 8.1
gcc 2.96
DDD 3.3.1
GDB (don't know :-( sending e-mail from Winblows)

How do you get DDD to look at a QString object (using Qt 3.0) ?  I double 
click on a variable of QString and it displays graphically.  Then I double 
click the box to expand it so that I can look at the member variable that 
contains the actual string "d" in this case.  But DDD won't expand the d 
member variable.  Visual C++ does it correctly without any fuss.

I am using the Hello program that comes with the examples directory in Qt. 
3.0.
