Help about debug apache module with ddd

hi

I am a newbie and trying to program apache module for my team. However the 
first problem I met is that I don't kown how to debug my apache-module. I had 
been researching some articles about the topic finding that ddd seemed to get 
rid of my worry. So I send this mail just wondering whether some advice or 
suggestion could be offered to guide me to that direction and I would 
appreciate if you could just give a single-line tip. Thanks!
