yes, I had that in mind, although I am not sure how active/usable
midi2ly is. Is the .ly generated good for LilyPond? 
In our Denemo .ly parser here are many incomplete bits of syntax, Nils
just finished two of them... The rest need working through - it's all
scheme stuff (see his recent check in
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/gitweb/?p=denemo.git;a=commit;h=53d5fb265343583c70f4b1ff821349238dd0c60c
etc)
A lot will be straight forward. I just pushed it as far as getting one
example mxml2ly file through (and our own basic Denemo-generated
lilypond)
