The latest issue of the Journal of the Graphics Tools includes a
simple algorithm for converting parametric surfaces (like NURBS) into
a mesh of triangles.  Rudimentary support for trimmed patches
also. Guaranteed to be crack free.

There is also an example C++ implementation developed by myself.  If
need be, I can place a version of the source code under the GPL to
ease inclusion in projects such as Panorama.
