I got close to landing a couple of really great job opportunities last week, but didn't get offered either of them.
Here's a list of the forums. All I'd need would be a laptop and perhaps some recording software. But for the rest of the day, I just filled time. Now admittedly, for a couple of hours I actually did some productive job searching. Personally, I think it was a really good idea to lay on an event like this, and it has certainly encouraged me to book some tickets for their performances throughout the rest of the year.
So I only had a couple.
And where is their remembrance?
We had a lot of great food, a little bit too much wine, and walked for miles around the city. So in addition to hearing the preview live on the night, we'll also get all the tracks to make up our own sampler CD to keep.
And one of the advantages of living in Edinburgh, is that interesting things can happen completely out of the blue. I think you'll find that there is a warning. Indeed, I'm rather excited to hear that one of those friends is already planning her next visit to see me in the next few weeks. And where is their remembrance?
But since the start of September, I've been pouring over the job search web sites, applying for just about everything that's vaguely suitable.
They are, it has to be said, really terrible; but at the same time, deliciously terrible. A couple of my old friends from when I used to live in Yorkshire came up to visit Edinburgh for the weekend, and I met up with them.
For two of those months I wasn't really trying very hard.
And so, by the time we were thrown out at closing time, I was pissed again. But the others obviously carried on without me, and were quite drunk by the time I met up with them again a few hours later.
sharing old stories, a bit of gossip, and generally just putting the world to rights.
All I'd need would be a laptop and perhaps some recording software. And best of all, it felt almost as if we had never been apart. And one of the advantages of living in Edinburgh, is that interesting things can happen completely out of the blue.
Fear of terrorism has never been higher amongst normal people, and at the same time, the erosion of civil liberties of those same normal people by their own governments has never been more real. I've been watching a bit of TV, reading a bit, and surfing the net for the rest of time. And at that time, no doubt, they'll find it impossible to shut me up, as I tell them all my about my exciting new job.
