Hello, first please excuse me two things: my poor english and this dumb question. I'm very inteested in SDR and the approach of GNU/Radio, but since I'm starting on this I'm looking for a cheap hardware solution. My main problem ATM is this: I found an IF downconverter from 455 kHz to 14 kHz ( http://www.tu-darmstadt.de/fb/et/uet/fguet/mitarbeiter/vf/DRM/fig/drmconv.pdf ). This circuit was made by the Dream project for their DRM receiver, so it could work with GNU/Radio.

Is possible to use this circuit with any RF receiver? For example, this one could work: http://w1.859.telia.com/~u85920178/rx/tba120-1.htm .

Really, I don't understand the bandwidth implications here, so I think the problem maybe is with the downcoverter. My fear is that it doesn't use the full 44, 48 or 96 kHz bandwidth of the soundcard.

If this works, I think there's a great chance of making a cheap RfFrontend, because you can just use the inexpensive Elenco kit that Eric pointed in a previous post (however, I don't know the IF of that one).

Thank you very much for reading!
