I've just added to cvs examples/python/apps a major rewrite of the
"HF Explorer" shortwave radio application around Bob's suggestion to use
complex filters. Now you can tailor the audio passband with a couple of
sliders over the spectrum display. Code also cleaner and the flow graph
MUCH simpler and more effecient. Basically just a bunch of creature
comforts glued onto a simple graph. hfx2.py
Shopping around recently it's amazing what radio manufacturers charge
hams for filters. A Yaesu 500Hz cw filter, $120, cha-ching. At least the
Kenwood TS-2000 sports "Digital filtering. (No more expensive options to
buy)"
