Yup, I do that all the time.  I have a very-early USRP1 and I use it frequently with all the latest UHD goop.

Q2: if so, will I then be able to use 8bit samples ie 16 msps?

I believe it does, yes.  But perhaps Josh can confirm.

Q3: If it *doesn't work*, to wich url do I point to get the *traditional GR*?
