how to link with gcc-3.0.1? |

On RedHat linux 7.1, with gcc-3.0.1 (built here!) I am able to
compile gnustep-make-1.0.1 and gnustep-base-1.0.2.tar.gz.
I can compile some apps, such as Autodoc. However, when I try to
run programs, I get the error that it cannot find libobjc.so.1.
I do have that file in
/usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/3.0.1.
It seems to me as though the environment command:
. /usr/local/GNUstep/System/Makefiles/GNUstep.sh
somehow breaks the LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
I don't want (yet) any GNUstep programs that require the gui,
but I'm unable to compile that too, it gets along then says it
can't find libobjc.so.
My understaing had been I don't need gnustep-objc when I use
this newer gcc. Not so?
The only other fact I know of that might be relevant is that I
installed ffcall-1.8b-1 from the RPM in the gnustep site, I did
not build it from scratch. I have no idea what gcc it was built
with, could the difference between that and my gcc be a source
of the trouble?
Oh, one other thing. If I swallow my pride and erase my build of
GNUstep and install the ftp site's versions:
gnustep-base-1.0.2-1
gnustep-objc-1.0.1-1
gnustep-make-1.0.1-1
Then Autodoc will run without trouble.
