I am not sure if this may help. If you want to create graphs, like from 
gnuplot, then AgentFarms framework has few good classes like GraphView. You can 
have a graph view with several collections and you can have a legend displayed. 
Almost everything is configurable and the view can be saved into EPS or TIFF 
file.

If this is what you are looking for, i think that a separate graph plotting 
framework should be created from those classes.
