Personally I sometimes happen to click Quit when I wanted to click Hide.
The dialogue is quite useful for this case, even if I would not lose
the current state.

On NeXT -- where quitting the Workspace means logging out --, you also
get a confirm dialogue; and I expect GWorkspace to behave similar.

In the end, a preference option would probably suit all our needs :-)
