Yes, this is part of the problem. I think another part is the very
strong criticism heaped on past marketing efforts which had errors in
them, like referring to GNUstep as a desktop. I know we're a bunch of
perfectionists (and that's why we like the interface), but you don't
get perfection if you drive the volunteers away by flaming them.

Do GNUstep a favour: as you figure these things out, write them up and
offer them for use as marketing materials. It's difficult to look at a
project with naive eyes when you've been following it for a while.

Actually, there is a project to produce distributions with GNUstep as
default at http://www.simplygnustep.com/ but the marketing there is as
bad, IMO ;-)

I am not a marketing bloke, but I impersonate one at work. I am slowly
updating gnustep.org when time permits.
