Betreff: The GNUstep project asks you for a favor
Hello Yoshi Nagatsuka,
I am writing you in behalf of the GNUstep project,
http://www.gnustep.org/. GNUstep is a non profit open source project
that implements the OpenStep specification (today also known as Cocoa
from Apple) on various Operating systems like Linux, BSD and other
Unixes.
We, the GNUstep developers and users had a vote for a mascot recently.
The winner was, you might already have guessed it, an orca:

We have chosen the orca because the orca is such a mighty and smart
mammal, to direct some attention to that endangered species and of
course because it is black and white like our logo ;-).
Since we haven't got talented artists among us, we were not able yet
to create some artwork for our mascot. Then somebody spotted your
rendered 3D images on the web. Most of us where overwhelmed by the
beauty of your artwork so that we decided to ask you, if you could
create a orca rendering for our project.
So hereby we ask you, if you want to create some artwork for us, the
GNUstep project. We would like to use the artwork for our web page,
flyers and posters. Of course we would give credits to you everywhere
we would use your artwork. It would really be great of you if you
could help us here create a rendering for our project and license us
the use of your artwork for that purpose.
If you are willing to help I have already created a rough sketch to
show you my imagination (I created it from your Quicktime VR movie by
the way). But this is only a rough direction, if you have a better
idea just go for it! I also attached the GNUstep logo.
Please respond also if you don't want to help so that we know you
received the mail (and can look for help elsewhere)
Thanks in advance, Lars S.-Helldorf, speaking for GNUstep
