I'm recovering from surgery right now, so I can't look at it right now. It would be helpful to me if you were more specific about the exceptions being raised. I'm not having this problem you;re describing, my hunch is that the PPD for the printer is not being sent for processing.

If you add a printer (try pointing your web browser to http://localhost:631), this problem will disappear.

# nephilim root # /etc/init.d/cupsd status
 * status:  started

# nephilim root # ps ax |grep cupsd
 6072 ?        Ss     0:03 /usr/sbin/cupsd

One printer is (had already been) configured. The CUPS daemon is running.

If I try to raise the print dialog in any app, exceptions are raised. Some apps it seems, like TextEdit.app, can't even create a new document without raising these exceptions.

... looks like this code needs a lot more debugging; just tell me what I can do for you, and I'll gladly help out.
