2) Move user_home into gnustep-base.
This is not possible because some users use gnustep-make on Apple to
compile pure Apple stuff (as an example, there are other important
cases
where we need this, eg OGo/libFoundation).
Ahh....
My feeling is that the best solution is have GNUstep.conf used in a
very
simple and predictable way by both gnustep-base and gnustep-make.
See my last email, but I'd like to reiterate:
0) env vars
1) user rc file
2) system conf file
...with the ability for the system conf file to say "no override".
If that's the only policy-in-code we have, it should be most easy to
code in both places, but not reusing code makes me nervous.
Also, I understand what the stuff in GNUstep.conf like SYS_APPS,
SYS_PREFS, etc *could do*, but could someone explain the "why it was
added / what I was thinking when I added it" part? I'm honestly just
curious -- is it as simple as "Find a way to call the system's 'ls'
command", for e.g.?
