I can force runtime linker to look there first by unsing LD_LIBRARY_PATH or with LDFLAGS="-R<path>", but I expected the gcc/gnu ld combination to

libraries based on architecture, the same way native Solaris tools do.


I think this is more of a question for a gcc list. But I'd bet that you need to use -R<path> or something similar. Mostly likely there is not specific support for finding 64-bit libraries.
