Re: Chameleon - UIKit for Mac development

I just yesterday read some of my own old posts on the subject, and, surprisingly, I still agree with myself :-)

Chameleon is great for bringing iOS APIs to the desktop, but from what I read about it, it is no replacement for a "real" implementation.

Another issue is that GNUstep doesn't have Core Animation yet. It's being actively worked on, but even when it's (mostly) done it probably won't be immediately integrated with AppKit; that is, NSViews probably won't immediately get capability of being layer-backed.

So that blocks Chameleon; on the other hand, NSLayers not being CA-backed doesn't block a full implementation of UIKit. :-)

Is anyone aware of this project? Can it help GNUstep to get UIKit Functionality? Or I am misunderstanding something?
