Follow-up Comment #4:
The patch below fixes the --archive-dir problem of deleting remote sigs when
both local and remote exist. The problem was that
CollectionStatus.set_matched_chain_pair() in collections.py did not comprehend
the possibility of local and remote sig chains, so allowed the remote to be
deleted.
There are other changes in the patch to bring this file up to spec on
formatting, primarily, no multi-statement lines. This helps in comprehension,
and in debugging.
