FW: [Xtla-el-dev] Xtla 0.9 is out!!

Xtla-0.9 is just released. Xtla is a frontend running on Emacsen for
gnuarch, a distributed version control system. If you use mainly
pcl-cvs, a frontend running on Emacsen for cvs, because of the
complicated command line interface of cvs, Xtla is for you. The
gnuarch command line interface is also complicated enough.

As you know, source files of GNU Emacs are tagged to be managed by
gnuarch like:

        ;; arch-tag: f7e0e6e5-70aa-4897-ae72-7a3511ec40bc
        ;;; subr.el ends here

So Xtla may be useful for the people hacking on GNU Emacs.

The Xtla development team is proud to announce the release of Xtla,
version 0.9.

Xtla is the Emacs front-end to tla (GNU Arch client). It mainly
provides user-friendly wrappers for tla native commands.

The main features are:

  * PCL-CVS like interface for tla inventory and tla changes

  * Archive browser - navigate painlessly through archives, categories,
    branches, versions, etc.

  * Good integration in Emacs - almost everything can be done from
    within the editor

  * Bookmark manager - keep the most frequently used arch locations in
    your bookmark buffer

  * Integration with ediff, Emacs's graphical diff tool
      - to view changes made in a local tree.
      - to view and resolve conflicts after a merge.

  * Interface to view missing patches from all your partners with a
    single command

  * An Emacs mode for arch-related files (log files, =tagging-method)

This version corresponds to the feature-freeze before the 1.0 release.
It contains no known bugs, but hasn't been heavily tested until now. We
invite you to try it and report any bugs or even minor problem.

In addition, we'll be happy to receive any feature requests.

Information about Xtla can be found here:

  http://wiki.gnuarch.org/moin.cgi/xtla

We also have a project page on http://gna.org (savannah.gnu.org-like),
where you can find information about the mailing list, the online
manual, the download area, and the bug tracker (also used for feature
requests):

  https://gna.org/projects/xtla-el

Since it is still under development, the recommended way to install Xtla
is from the archive found here:

  http://www-verimag.imag.fr/webdav/moy/public

The version is

  address@hidden/xtla--main--0.9

Xtla can also be downloaded as a tarball from here

  http://download.gna.org/xtla-el/

Or installed as a Debian package by adding

  deb http://download.gna.org/xtla-el/apt/ unstable/

to your sources.list file.
