I found this in the changelog:
2001-11-03 Richard M. Stallman <address@hidden>
* xfns.c: Include unistd.h, if it exists.
* editfns.c: Move the include of ctype.h after unistd.h.
But several other files still include ctype.h before unistd.h,
so why was that change made?
