Because if you have an ftp gateway, it is not likely to be a Windows machine.BTW I also see that ange-ftp-gateway-tmp-name-template is initialized to "/tmp/ange-ftp" on w32 which does not seem correct. Why not initialize it to the same value as ange-ftp-tmp-name-template?
