Personally I think that's a waste of time and disk space. I would just change them all to pdf now and be done with it. Some of them never had any ps version in CVS at all, just the tex, and no-one ever complained, AFAIK. pdf is better for Windows and Mac (AFAIK), and any sane GNU/Linux system can handle pdf or tex just fine.
