isearch-multi.el seems like a better name for the new file.
This name is too long. What about isearch-x.el? It has two
meanings: "x" means "isearch extra extensions", and "x" means
"cross-file, cross-buffer search".

"isearch-multi" really isn't that long. and it's a great deal more clear than
something generic like isearch-x...

The cryptic system "Do no lOng nameS" might perhaps still be around? Or is it no longer supported?
