FWIW, I'm using Emacs-GIT under Windows Vista as well and as of today
it builds and runs fine.

Let me add to the ongoing Linux vs. Windows discussion that I prefer
GNU/Linux myself and use it at home.

Unfortunately, I'm forced to use Windows at work but that shoudn't
keep me from using Emacs. Freedom of choice, right?
