I agree. It's also better to use visual-line-mode (and turn on by
default if that is the consensus) because that is already in the
Options menu, while discovering that the irritating change from
emacs-22 was in the 'line-move-visual' setting is always a "fun"
exercise when bumping into a new emacs-23 environment -- and the
better-advertised red herring of "visual-line-mode" never fails
to distract me.
