True enough.

That's not true in Mercurial named branches.  I believe it's true of
both Mercurial and Bazaar branches that are "named by the directory
they are stored in", as well.

But Alan (and Eli) are *specifically* talking about their *abstract*
concepts of branch, independent of implementation.
