Just a note:

I don't know how to write info with texinfo but I remember I wrote manuals in 
this
format using muse.
Muse is able to convert a file in diverse formats including latex,
texinfo, (x)html and maybe others (Don't remember, long time I didn't
use this).
So writing all documentation in such format would make everybody happy,
allowing to convert the document in various formats.
