Hi Stefan,

As I told you, I would gladly volunteer, but:

- I would only have ~6 hours per week to dedicate to Emacs, which seems
  to be too little considering the task.
- Many parts of the codebase are completely foreign to me (including
  most of the C code).
- Being relatively new, I probably don't have enough experience with the
  community.

That said, I would like to give a hand to the new maintainer(s), so working
on some sub-tasks would be a good fit I think.
