It is true that most of them do this.

That is why it is vital for the FSF to spread the message that this
is a bad thing to do.  In order to do that without being hypocritical,
we have to set an example of doing what we say is right.

Distributing docker images is hardly a vital issue.
But this is not about whether to distribute docker images;
we can certainly do that one way or another.  This is just
about _how_ to distribute them.


Developing GNU Emacs is a part of the GNU Project.
Winning freedom, defeating proprietary injustice, is its purpose.
That's why I wrote GNU Emacs in the first place.

You don't seem to value this purpose very much, so you resent that it
is the basis for our decisions.  But that has to be the basis.

Aside from the visible exaggeration, it's a bad analogy.  For a better
analogy, imagine that the habitants of those houses demanded that
every visitor eat some meat at the door in order to be allowed in.
