Try adding -o to the header of the ditaa block, resulting in a block like #+begin_ditaa blue.png -r -S -o +---------+ | cPNK | | | | +----+ | |cBLU| | | | +----+----+ #+end_ditaa Then ditaa should willingly overwrite the previous image.
