Well I did state that I also had no problems with usability, and if there's
no reduction in usability, then yes, aesthetics are important.

One could use the same argument to say we should default to a 24-point font
because many people have impaired vision.

Anyway, I don't know if Gerd's experience is unusual or not.  Part of the
problem of course is that lwlib uses a not-very-good method for highlighting
things -- it merely reverses the `3dness,' rather than doing shading /
drawing icons / whatever -- I don't know if that would be simple to fix or
not.
