confirm-kill-emacs

User-agent: Gnus/5.1006 (Gnus v5.10.6) Emacs/21.3.50 (windows-nt)

I started emacs runemacs-q, evaluated the following

(setq confirm-kill-emacs 'yes-or-no-p) in the *scratch* buffer and
then created a file - I used c:/temp/x.x and entered some text.
I then - from the menu bar file submenu - tried to exit emacs

I get a popup asking if I want to save the file, I replied yes, the
file was saved but emacs was not exited!

No beep, nothing in *Messages*

I tried this with a GNU/Linux build and the problem didn't occur so it
looks to be specific to the windows port
