documentation bug (browse-url)

From: Harry Putnam
Subject: documentation bug (browse-url)
Date: Sun, 08 Feb 2004 09:23:54 -0600

This bug report will be sent to the Free Software Foundation,
not to your local site managers!
Please write in English if possible, because the Emacs maintainers
usually do not have translators to read other languages for them.

Your bug report will be posted to the address@hidden mailing list.

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

Attempting to learn how to adjust browse-url functions for my needs.
1) M-x customize-apropos <RET>
   browse-url <RET>

Shows me one may use specialized functions here
   (Choice `C' your own function)
>From here I decided to see if emacs online help had something to
offer.

Using the index search I entered string `browse', which lands me
directly at Node `Following URLS'. The last section says:

You can customize Browse-URL's behavior via various options in the
  `browse-url' Customize group, particularly
`browse-url-browser-function'. You can invoke actions dependent on the
type of URL by defining `browse-url-browser-function' as an association
list. The package's commentary available via `C-h p' provides more
information. Packages with facilities for following URLs should always
go through Browse-URL, so that the customization options for Browse-URL
will affect all browsing in Emacs.

Notice the reference to using C-h p to find `the package'. But no
where on the page is a package named. Going to C-h p and searching
under `browse' fails to turn up any hits.

It turns out to be package `hypermedia'

Seems `the package' should be named in the refernce shown above.
