Maybe we could move this part of the discussion to gnu.emacs.help? The
part about how we all uses this?
Personally, what stops me from using transient-mark-mode is that it
displays the marked region at times when I do not want it to. I don't
know if that makes sense to you, but that is how I feel.
I quite happily uses Emacs without either transient-mark-mode,
pc-selection-mode or delete-selection-mode. It took me some days to
get used to not seeing the region I mark (using C-SPC) but now I do
not see it as a problem. Also, if there is a situation when I *really*
need to see the region I use C-SPC C-SPC to temporarily enable
transient-mark-mode.
In order to delete regions without saving them in the kill-ring I have
bound C-c d to delete-tegion.
I love to discuss these things, to see how others use certain
features, so that I can be even more productive.
