Thanks for the suggestions, but I already identified a recipe for
reproducing the error and sent it to emacs-pretest-bug.  The message
has the subject "Wrong type argument: arrayp, nil with LANG=C under

No, I am using a stable version of AUCTeX for building and this is the
same I used in March.
