I think it is wrong to do this in cmdproxy, as cmdproxy has no knowledge 
about what is a filename, and what is a literal string that must be 
passed to the command  untouched.
The right place to do this is when completing file names, since we know 
then that we are dealing with a file name. We should never change what 
the user has manually typed.
