Just for the record, the patch I was referring to was the one you sent me before Christmas in response to my previous emacsclient bug report.
However, I have just tested my previous version of emacsclient again and it also gives the bogus error message. So this must be caused by something else that just happened to coincide with me installing emacs 22.0.92.1. Sorry about that! I'll have to investigate further.
