I suspect it wouldn't be generally useful if only because no-one else has
asked for it.  There aren't large numbers on this list but somethings come
up more often.

Humour me one more time.  What happens if you put:

(gdb "gdb --annotate=3 
/projects/dl/cvstrunk/shared/sw/gvu/bin/fc6debug1_singlethread/gvu")

in your lisp file?
