I can't reproduce this.  You probably left some of your code in
xdisp.c.

Yes, you are right. it actually stops if you wait a little longer than I did. But it takes 80-100 turns before it does that. And it starts again if you press left or right arrow. And it stops if you press up or down arrow. Something strange perhaps, but nothing to worry about.
