Considering that muse is actually emacs-wiki 3.0, you can see why I
think continued work on emacs-wiki 2.x is unfortunate. What Muse
lacks are a few peripheral features that can be implemented as a
module. What emacs-wiki lacks compared to Muse could never be
remedied without a complete rewrite.
But your e-mail reminds me of the finishing touches needed on Muse.
Now that ledger (http://ledger.sf.net) is finished, I think I have
some time to finish those items, and to port planner and the other
packages to Muse.
