And to answer your actual question: when using
make install prefix=<whatever dir>
Espresso will only change things within <whatever dir>. When you remove
this dir, there will be no traces left of ESPResSo.
Even better, you can also call
make uninstall prefix=<whatever dir>
which will remove ESPResSo completely, without touching any other files
residing in <whatever dir>.
But, as stated in the previous mail, there should be no reason to
install ESPResSo in the first place.
