I am afraid we are stuck with the situation right now. It should improve
once we get proper TrueType hinting done. But even then, it remains to you
whether you find Courier/FreeMono appealing. Myself I also prefer a
slightly heavier face, i.e. Knuths Computer Modern Typewriter.
