Hi,
Special thanks to Chris for testing. I revised the tar ball
FontVal-2.1.1-py-osxbin.tgz (should be 100526431byes, I hope sourceforge purged
the older tar ball).
https://sourceforge.net/projects/hp-pxl-jetready/files/Microsoft%20Font%20Validator/misc/
I hope this new one works as intended.
- mostly I like "FontValidator-clang" to work with the "+raster-tests" option.
If it does, it will be renamed
and shipped as the next 2.1.1 osx command line binary. If it does not, I hope
"FontValidator-gcc" does.
And if both don't, I hope "FontValidator" does. :-(.
- FontVal-64 is the 64-bit gui, I suspect it probably won't launch without
doing something like
DYLD_FALLBACK_LIBRARY_PATH=`pwd`/libs FontVal-64
and it might still malfunction even if it launches; but ideally I'd like it to
work. FontVal-32 is the fallback
option of the 64-bit gui does not work... so I hope one of them works, with or
without the DYLD_... thing.
The issue with "Function not supported" on both osx and ubuntu 14.04 was filed:
https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=59076
and also a pull from me, and another 4? before that on typos, etc in the source
code.
https://github.com/mono/mono/pull/5459
The good news is I think I can probably "stuff everything in the binary" and
make a linux binary for 5-year-old ubuntu
with full functionality i.e. almost as if it is statically linked to a
customizd freetype (though
it is not technically done that way).
