This is ok by me, though be aware that cyclists might just bugger off
for Manchester Critical Mass instead—last Friday of every month.

I’d prefer it not to clash with #manlug currybeer on the first Friday of
every month, or if they do happen on the same day to either merge them,
or possibly arrange for currybeer to start a little later, and have an
FSUK Manchester meeting beforehand. It could do with more than just two
people though!

Manchester 2600 is also on the first Friday of the month, supposedly,
but I don’t know anyone who’s involved.

If the meeting is going to be in a more formal setting, then I’d suggest
working on an agenda for discussion in advance. It can get pretty
tiresome if people aren’t clear on what the meeting is about and the
topics vary wildly. We don’t have to rigidly follow the agenda, but it
should help us to focus on particular topics.

If there will be no such plan of action, then down the pub’s the best
bet. Buy me beer and I might say something constructive! ☺

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a
simple system that works.
