If it is a segfault, but either way it is very wobbly.

And overnight it did 54000 (1000 8) iterations without any errors.

| 2) ln -snf <your gcl tree> lsp/gcl-2.6.2a

Thanks for the tip.  I'm going to try and avoid any further work on Axiom
while I attend to other more pressing demands, but it's very tempting.
