Moin Guru's,

i recently tried to compile GCL again. And run into a problem, i can
not identify currently. I have two sarge system. Makhno is able to
compile GCL, but Berneri is'nt. The diff between the configure tee
  is :

< Linux-2.6.7-l1skas
> Linux-2.4.28-berneri
< checking for main in -lXmu... yes
> checking for main in -lXmu... no
> missing x libraries -- cannot compile xgcl
< checking "finding CSTACK_ADDRESS"... got -1073743180
> checking "finding CSTACK_ADDRESS"... got -1073743052
< X_LIBS= -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lXmu -lXt -lXext -lXaw -lX11
< X_CFLAGS= -I/usr/X11R6/include

  The compile stops at

/home/kraehe/lisp/gcl-berneri/unixport/ -libdir /home/kraehe/lisp/gcl-berneri/
< foo
Error: Can't open file "gcl_serror.data"

#<"USER" package>
>>rm raw_gcl init_gcl.lsp.tmp

(cd mod; rm -f *.c; make all)
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/kraehe/lisp/gcl-berneri/mod'

it sometimes also stops with being unable to find gcl_iolib.data
or gcl_describe.data - i dont know what happens here. The .data
files are there, e.g. lsp/gcl_serror.data, and both sites dont
have any .data files in their unixport/lib*a archives ???

any idea what might be wrong with Berneri ?

Bye Michael
