I'll be trying out http://globulation2.org/wiki/Mingw_compilation  (the guide Ion and I made) today and hopefully have it working by the end of the week if I run into problems. NanoTech, is this the guide you used? If not, please do and tell me how it goes (or wait till the win32 release in ~week)

Yea, that's the guide.

Oh, and it could be that the compiled exe is looking in the wrong place or its in the right place but the files aren't there (you downloaded sdl.dll files?).

SDL.dll is in the  /include/ directory.

I tried compiling on windows. Same error with AIEcho. So no windows build yet. I'll try a few others things.

GCC Build: 3.3.1

I got the same AIEcho.cpp error with Gcc 3.x. Steph said to try with Gcc 4.x, so I did, no AIEcho errors there, just SDL errors. :P

(on a side note, the release for Alpha 22 has no campaign or maps :P Kinda rushed don't you think?)

The campaign maps are there (I checked in the Alpha 22 debian release), they just don't have a campaign set up for them. You can click "Create New Campaign" in the map editor to set the maps up into a campaign.

Bradley had to create the release on our server, because of his dial up
connection and the size of the binary.

I hate dialup too. I'm so glad I got broadband!

Nothing else much I can do now then till this bug is fixed.......

How bout learn C++ and try and help? :P
Anyways, good luck to all the programmers, and thanks for making such a great game!

Lol. I know how he feels (I downloaded 60mb of mingw stuff yesterday on dial up, and found it didn't work :P)

Anyway, I think an Alpha 23 should be no more than a week or two away. IMO, its got bugs that need fixing, and obviously maps and campaigns that need to go with it :P

When Alpha 23 is released, I'll make the win32 one (unless the AIEcho bug gets fixed before then, in which case I'll download maps and campaigns myself and stick them in the release (I don't know how compatible they will be though).

Sounds serious.
