I will download the game and play it again and again!
GDB is excellent tool I have used it for 3 months. I need more practices for it with Globulation2.
Could you tell me which Linux distribution is prefered to run Globulation2?

Not necessarily. I pull using http://  (so I dont have to type login details) but push using https. It works the same (you havn't noticed anything different in my commits have you?? :P). Its a big time saver to pull with http and push with https (you still need to contact Stephane, see the details Brad gave).
 

Finally, you can join me on IRC, at #glob2 and #glob2-devel (join both!) on irc.oftc.net. This way we can communicate much quicker while you get started.

I wasn't aware #glob2-dev was used :P
 
 
There are plenty of things to do. Big priority is bug fixes (check our bug tracker http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?group=glob2 ). I personally seem to have a knack for introducing very irregular and unreproducible bugs (go figure, the worst kind), so these are top priority.

But once you know what they are (like the priority bug), you are able to fix them :P When you are not making features Robin, you will be playing Globulation a lot and finding bugs.

A helpful hint. Familiarize yourself with GDB if you aren't already. It helps a lot with debugging when the client crashes. You will also need to learn how to use Mercurial. We use it for source code. Its fairly simple. See http://globulation2.org/wiki/Mercurial
 
However, if you want things in terms of new code, our campaigns could use allot of work. Right now I implemented very basic architecture for campaigns. There are lots of things that could be improved with it, such as graphics, descriptions on the maps, map previews, etc..

Make sure you dont put in your own features without checking with the other developers! Most should be ok, but some things are more important (a priority system for example would come before roading, and getting it to compile comes before other coding (the master branch of the source code must never be broken, if it will be, push to another branch (not master)).
