Complaining about an experimental branch is somewhat silly... :-) I've
been doing other experimenting more focused on better performance when
Gnash is used as a UI, which doesn't need to support any video
streaming, now sound for that matter. I changed it to make debugging
easier between multiple build slaves as an experiment. I'd probably get
changed back, or it it work good, become a configure option.
As I look at performance issues, it's amazing how much Gnash tries to
do even if nothing is happening, which keeps the cpu load higher than it
needs to be.

There has been ~/.gnashrc support for changing the delay for several
years.
