i can't seem to find the build instructions for win anywhere. 
i hope i don't need to install cygwin?

mmm... and 'new Camera' worked instead ?
Are you able to rebuild the tests after slight modification ?
(it just needs latest release of "Ming" : 0.4.0beta2)
